I just want to say thanks to everyone who has sent me good wishes through all this. I am still hospitalized, being pumped up with lots of different antibiotics, and feeling generally crummy, but not in imminent danger. I'm in Stanford Hospital, room F343, phone (650)498-3853. : >

Hi Pat,
I'm planning to visit Saturday afternoon.
I'll call first.
Lemme know when I call, if I can bring you anything.

Sorry to hear that you are feeling crummy, and that your recovery has been having its share of ups and downs.

I can sympathesize with the frustration you might be feeling -- that just when you think you are getting better, something else comes up. The past 2-3 weeks have been like that for me, and I am still wondering if I'm going to be 100% any time soon. It's very annoying during travel, and a bit scary when dealing with language barriers.

Did they give you an estimate as to how long they think you'll be there? I don't know what my access to phones and the internet will be this weekend, but if I can give you a brief call at some point I'd like to. Otherwise, I'm slated to return to Amsterdam Monday night.

Take care & many hugs. Hope you feel better soon -- my fingers are crossed for both of us, and you are in my thoughts.

Thanks, you are in my thoughts too -- although some of those thoughts are envious :> I know it must be no fun being sick abroad; it's hard enough sometimes to figure out doctors even when you speak the same language, and as you mentioned elsewhere, getting OTC drugs after hours can be a big hurdle. I hope your throat opens up some so you can really enjoy your time with [livejournal.com profile] mikz. Have fun on the "Romantic Road"! Sometime after you get back, ask [livejournal.com profile] brian1789 to tell you about our whirlwind trip through Bavaria. Its a funny story.

As far as how long I'll be in, I have no idea other than they said Thursday night that it would be at least 48 hours.
