Have bad cold. Need sleep... or something. Medicine not helping much. Waaah!

Okay, time to stop whining and go to bed. Rule number one (from Dialectical Behavior Therapy): Treat Physical Illness. If you're sick, you are more vulnerable to negative emotions. So, time for some hot tea... I wish I could remember who it was that posted a recipe for hot lemon stuff for colds a while back.

Can sleep for two hours, then kids come home. Oh boy. At least they're not sick, too -- although that *would* slow them down a bit.

When I have a cold I brew some black tea and add to it lemon juice (2-3tsp), powdered (not fresh) ginger (2 tsp), Irish whiskey (maybe 1/2 oz), and honey to taste. This is especially good for a chest cold.

I think it was [livejournal.com profile] clairaide who recently posted a more involved tea recipe for colds.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, Rivka. I was able to find the recipe, and it did help.

You aren't as bad off as your little mood-icon, are you?
