Exactly how important this Superbowl was to me, here are a couple of quotes:

From my very first LJ entry: "Maybe tomorrow I'll write about the most important story in sports -- the Buccaneer's new coach (heh heh heh)."

From my *second* Lj entry: "I have been good -- only once have I spoken to a Raiders fan and gloated over Jon Gruden going to Tampa. People are mourning his departure -- except for me. I haven't been this happy about an upcoming NFL season in years.
Over the past several years, it's become not embarrassing to be a Buccaneers fan. Perhaps since they ditched the orange and red for the red and pewter, they are not seen as the pitiful dregs of the NFL. I don't know that I want them to become too popular, though, I would hate to be part of a trend. : >"

I remember what it was like when the Raiders won their last Super Bowl as an LA team. Very annoying.

But root for them regardless because you remember the days when Steve Spurrier wasn't the amazing coach of the Florida Gators but the first ever QB for the Gay Blade Buccaneers.

Yep, and when Orange Crush wasn't a drink but a defense anchored by the amazing Selmon brothers, Leroy and Dewey. (This was before the Broncos, those skunks, appropriated the nickname.)
