Guys? get a room. Seriously. There have got to be better places to neck than Starbucks. I know you're young, and you think the world revolves around you, and that this is *twue wove*, but really, take it somewhere else. I'd get up and leave, except I was here first, and I'm stubborn that way.

And again, I'm an equal opportunity prude. I'd be telling you the same thing if you were a straight couple.

Speaking of which, I'm now packed and am going to bed...

Unrelated....but I've been reading your LJ for a number of months now and just NOW realized you live right up the street (well, it's a long street called Central Expressway, but whatever).

Funny stuff.

A study room in Starbucks!

How many rooms do your Starbuckses have?

I don't like necking in very public places either (either seeing it or doing it). Occasionally, I've surprised myself by doing it. I think I would have been grateful if someone had tactfully said something when it has happened, so that my companion and I would have moved somewhere more private.

Most Starbucks have a standard Starbucks layout. This one, however, has a separate room with a couple of long reading tables (with reading lamps), and all the rest of the tables are the larger round size, good for studying or writing at. People study or read in here -- it is quiet.

This particular Starbucks also has a drive-through, and is open to 1 a.m., longer than any other in the area.

Really? Are you in Mountain View, Sunnyvale or Santa Clara? We're in Mountain View.

I'm in Santa Clara... almost to San Jose actually.

I love Mountain View though! Had dinner at a great Mexican place on Saturday and like to hang out at Red Rock Coffee shop right on Castro.

Where is this big Starbucks?

Maybe it's due to differences in local architecture (they do certainly remodel when they open up in a new location, but are still constrained by the space and the spaces chosen aren't all that similar to start with, or something), but among the several Starbucks I've been to in the Boston area (which is far fewer than the Starbucks which exist in the Boston area), the layout is not really all that similar.

It's on El Camino, at Lawrence Expressway. Going north from Santa Clara, it would be just after you pass under the Lawrence Expressway overpass.

What was the Mexican place?

Actually, this Starbucks is unique in our area, too -- it's larger than the rest, and has the two rooms. I haven't seen any other like it -- I think it has to do with the particular layout of the building it is in, which used to be a bank branch office.

*grin* There should be some kind of t-shirt for that.

Off topic - is your email system down again perchance? A couple of emails I sent about rescheduling lunch seem not to have gotten through. Feel free to phone - 415 five one seven 7965 - or to IM me (I'm pyro_phage on Yahoo). Tues or Thurs 11am-ish would work for me this week, if either of those are good for you.

SOrry I didn't get back to you. Tues didn't work -- the kids were out of school; Thursdays generally will work early, except today I am going to take Vicodin and go to bed. Next week?

Thanks! Tuesday next week is one possibility - I could do noon to 2pm lunch. Might that work for you?

Actually, I just got a call from my doctor's office reminding me I have a 10:45 appointment at Stanford. I should be out in time -- so I think that will work.
