During the Good Friday liturgy, when we pray for "all who have not received the Gospel of Christ", it includes "those who in the name of Christ have persecuted others". We pray that God will open their hearts to truth.

Christianity is by its very nature a proselytizing faith, but the Episcopalians are the most respectful of other traditions that I've found so far, with the exception of the Quakers and the U-Us.

i am an episcopalian by choice..received into the church in 1989 by the rt. rev. george barrett. i remember well this day in santa barbara. i was raised catholic, my father is jewish, and i left all church, even reconsidered the reasons i was christian at all, by the time i was in college. it was a college english teacher and a december "lessons and carols" that brought me to the episcopal church.

never before have i found an organized religion that was so open to all lifestyle choices, so tolerant of other religions and so accepting of others views. proud to be an episcopalian....yep, me too!
