Another reason I'm glad I'm Episcopalian....

During the Good Friday liturgy, when we pray for "all who have not received the Gospel of Christ", it includes "those who in the name of Christ have persecuted others". We pray that God will open their hearts to truth.

Christianity is by its very nature a proselytizing faith, but the Episcopalians are the most respectful of other traditions that I've found so far, with the exception of the Quakers and the U-Us.

Not intrusive at all. We attend All Saints Palo Alto, which looks like a fortress from the outside. It's more attractive inside, though I still don't think ribbed concrete is the esthetic equivalent of fan vaulting. But the acoustics are lovely, and we have a magnificent pipe organ. The rector and assistant pastor are both women, too. A wonderful and loving church -- so much so that when we moved from Santa Clara to the South Bay, we kept on attending there.
